According to Brevard County deputies, a woman’s body was found near a road in West Melbourne

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman’s body was found on the side of a road in West Melbourne early Monday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman’s body was found near Eber Boulevard and Buddy Drive around 6:40 a.m. after a citizen noticed something and reported it to a deputy at a nearby gas station, BCSO said in a news release.

“Homicide and Criminal Investigation officers arrived at the scene and began the process of interviewing potential witnesses and gathering evidence to establish the circumstances of the incident. The sheriff’s office is identifying the victim and notifying next of kin,” BCSO said.

The Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.
