Salisbury man convicted of murder in 2023

SALISBURY, Maryland. A Salisbury man has pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in connection with a July 2023 murder.

On Thursday, a jury found 26-year-old Antonio Oliver guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and other related charges.

Late on the night of July 31, 2024, Oliver engaged in a brief physical altercation with the victim in front of 1016 Fairground Drive in Salisbury. As the victim began to leave the area, Oliver’s friend gave him a gun, at which point Oliver chased after the victim’s vehicle. When the victim was out of sight, Oliver ran across the parking lot and hid on the corner, waiting for the victim to return. When the victim returned, Oliver shot the victim six times before fleeing the area and the state of Maryland, and was arrested a few days later in Philadelphia.

The announcement of the verdict is postponed until the pre-trial investigation is completed. Oliver will remain in custody pending sentencing.
