When Colin Farrell was arrested for attempted murder

Colin Farrell is the founding father of Hollywood’s Irish bad boy (now relinquishing that title to Barry Keoghan), who was once known for a series of scandals that made him quite the hot topic in the film industry. Despite starting out at an all-boys Catholic school, the actor created a stir with an accidental sex tape, dramatic dates and eventually a stint in rehab. But despite the headlines, the actor left an incredible mark with his performances in Seven psychopaths, Omar and Banshees of Inisherinable to impress the audience with one line and amuse with one look.

Although the actor has mellowed out over the years and now lives a relatively quiet life, Pharrell still has plenty of amazing stories from his youth, and in a talk show interview he shared a story about the time he was arrested for trying murders

Farrell said that during a visit to Sydney as a teenager, he was taken into custody for allegedly beating a man and setting fire to his apartment. Unfortunately for him, the actor bore a striking resemblance to the real perpetrator, and his arrest was made by a mistaken identity. However, Farrell had been drunk the night before and after being questioned by the police, he began to doubt himself and wonder if he could have done anything.

The actor said: “It was a long time ago, and I was drunk. I saw a picture of the guy who actually committed the crime, and he looked remarkably like me, and for a second I — because I had a blackout that night — I wondered, could I have done this? They showed me a picture, a pencil sketch of a guy who was trying to kill this other gentleman – and it was me. They had thick eyebrows, a mole on their face, they even talked in 2D with Irish accent”.

Despite discovering his doppelgänger at the most inopportune moment, Farrell was eventually released from custody after his friend submitted a diary entry describing what they had done the night before, possibly the only time you’d want b to have someone read your diary. Pharrell described the recording, saying, “It was terrible. I was there for about six hours and then luckily my friend kept a diary of that particular night and that particular time we were at a party on the other side of town doing ecstasy…”

Although Pharrell was known for his extreme partying, it’s safe to say that he’s never gotten drunk to the point of accidentally killing someone, which, oddly enough, is very similar to the predicament of some of his characters.

Farrell is currently starring in an HBO series Penguinreprising his character from the critically acclaimed batman a film directed by Matt Reeves and starring Cristina Milioti, which tells the origin story of a notorious Gotham gangster. The first season of the series recently aired, so far there is no confirmation as to whether there will be a second season.
