Google Pixel 9a leak details: From price to specs, everything we know so far

After releasing the Google Pixel 9 series in August, Google is most likely working on the release of the Google Pixel 9a in the coming months. The company hasn’t officially announced the details of the launch, but the new slimmed-down version is rumored to arrive in March. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as the company has been releasing this option for a very long time. However, the Google Pixel 9a is expected to be larger than its predecessors. Rumor has it that this will be a major upgrade. Let’s take a look at all the leaked details of the Google Pixel 9a.

Google Pixel 9a: what to expect

The Google Pixel 9a is rumored to have a 6.3-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This means the phone will be the same size as the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. However, the leaked images show a completely different design language. According to these images published by Android Headlines, Google may ditch the camera and put the camera directly into the body. It is rumored to boast a sturdy body with rounded edges.

In terms of performance, it will be powered by a Tensor G4 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Previous leaks suggest that the phone will have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging speed. If true, the upcoming Pixel 9a will have an 11 percent larger battery than the Pixel 8a. Since the phone is expected to be bigger, it’s easy to believe that the battery will also be bigger.

In terms of connectivity, the Pixel 9a is rumored to include the Exynos 5300 modem, a reliable but older modem previously used in the Pixel 8 series. This modem, while capable, is a step down from the newer Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series, which offers better performance and advanced 5G features. However, for many users, the 5300 should provide consistent network performance, making it a practical choice for everyday tasks.

The leaks also revealed that the phone will have a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It will also have a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

The Pixel 9a’s dimensions have grown slightly thanks to the larger screen, now measuring 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm and weighing 186g. Interestingly, despite the increased size, Google has managed to make the Pixel 9a lighter than the Pixel 8a, which weighed 188 g.

Last but not least, the Pixel 9a can still be priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 42,000). That’s the same price as the Pixel 8a. In India, the Pixel 8a was priced at Rs 52,999 for the 8+128GB model and Rs 59,999 for the 8+256GB variant.
