Innocent bystander shot at south Alabama bar seeks help with hefty medical bills

A man who police say was an innocent bystander shot at a Mobile bar is seeking help to pay his medical bills.

AND A GoFundMe was created to support CAudie Goff, who was shot and killed on Sunday.

At Haley’s Bar, the alleged shooter, Michael Sullivan, got into an argument with the woman and allegedly tried to shoot someone. Police said Sullivan shot Goff instead of aiming.

Sullivan was arrested.

As a result of the shooting, Goff was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. According to a GoFundMe set up by Cody’s sister, Candace Goff, he has already undergone two major surgeries.

One operation resulted in the removal of a foot and a half of the large and small intestines, and another operation was to ligate the iliac vein because it was badly damaged.

“I know this GoFundMe will only put a small dent in his medical bills,” Candace wrote, “but we hope it gets him through the next few months as we try to figure out what’s next.” Cody has no insurance and we don’t know when or if he will be able to return to work.”

Cody is also still in the window for infection or sepsis, but according to his sister, he has shown great progress and resilience.

As of this post, they have raised over $7,500 of their $30,000 goal.
