The upcoming Oppo Find N5, which may be marketed as the OnePlus Open 2 in some regions, is expected to hit shelves in early 2025. While the company has yet to reveal details about the sophisticated device, a tipster from Digital Chat Station shared a key specification on Weibo, though the phone itself was not named.

According to the speaker, the overall design of the engineering prototype closely resembles that of its predecessor, the Oppo Find N3, but with the added benefit of being lighter and thinner. Notably, the Oppo Find N5 has a larger display, although the exact dimensions of the screen have not been disclosed.

The Find N3 features a 6.31-inch external display and a 7.82-inch internal display. According to the insider, the Find N5 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which also powers the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13 smartphones.

The insider suggested that the sophisticated device will have a triple camera, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. The rear cameras will consist of a 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 50-megapixel primary camera.

The Open 2 is expected to have a dual-cell battery with a nominal capacity of 5,565 mAh, which consists of 2,460 mAh and 3,105 mAh cells. This is a marked improvement over the previous model, which had a 4,805 mAh battery. While the tipster did not provide details on fast charging, it was indicated that the Find N5 will support wireless charging.

Recent speculation suggests that the Oppo Find N5 will be the first foldable phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and feature a 2K resolution main display. Additionally, the same tipster recently stated that the device will be more compact when folded, with a thickness of around 9.x mm.

It’s also speculated that the Find N5 could feature a three-level alert slider to control call modes and a custom-designed slim USB-C port, though that’s yet to be confirmed. However, it’s important to note that details about the upcoming phone are speculative and should be treated with caution.
