A burglary case in Gopal Pura village, Moth police station, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh is dominating the headlines right now. According to Local 18 Uttar Pradesh, two thieves stole jalar (a long thin strip of colorful cloth used mainly for decoration in India), lights and cash worth Rs 20,000. Thieves stole these things from more than a dozen houses. Because of these incidents of theft, the entire village of Gopal Pura was in a panic. Narendra Kumar, a native of Gopal Pura, said he kept Rs 20,000 to buy a car. According to him, the robbers took this money. He said they also stole jalars and light bulbs installed on many houses. In addition, they also robbed peanuts that were placed in a tractor cart near the house. Narendra Kumar said that the robbers kept this peanut in a bag and took it away.

According to Narendra Kumar, the thief, identified as Rajan, hails from their village only. Narendra Kumar said that after the theft, Rajan tried to hack the CCTV camera. The name of the other robber is not publicly available.

This robbery, committed by criminals, was recorded by a video surveillance camera installed in the village. In a recent update, the locals of Gopal Pura caught one of the thieves involved in the crime. The arrested robber held his ears and apologized for his act in front of everyone. However, before the arrival of the police in the village, the thief managed to deceive people and escape. The victims appealed to the police with the demand to take measures regarding this incident. Police Station Officer Mott Harimohan Singh said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim and a search is on for the accused.

The video surveillance camera was in good condition, so local residents could recognize the thief from it. However, despite being caught by the public, it is not clear how the robber, Rajan, managed to escape. Apart from this incident, many other cases of theft were also reported from Jhansi.
