The dam in Central Amsterdam was closed for pedestrians and traffic on Thursday after the explosion and fire of cars near the war Memorial.

“The camera frames show that the fire on the dam began after an explosion in the car,” the city police said on social networks. “At this point, there were many people close to the car, but as far as we know, none of them was injured.”

Other shots show a tall man, wandering around the dam With his trousers, they are loose and fire, and the car burns on the back, and the police are trying to get closer to it. Then they spray it with a fire extinguisher and order him to descend to the ground.

The police say the driver seems to have begun a fire intentionally and that he was injured. He was taken to the hospital, but there is no information about the severity of injuries.

The area will remain fenced for a while until it is safe.

The explosion occurs a week after the mass prickly stringing of the dam, which was attacked by five people. Four of them remain in the hospital.
