Siblings threaten senior citizen arrested after police chase in Noida

Two sisters, Bhavya Jain (23) and Charvi Jain (21), were arrested on Friday night during a chaotic scene at Anekant Apartments in East Delhi’s Vasundhara Enclave. The siblings allegedly threatened an elderly resident and drove their car recklessly, injuring several people and damaging property.

The incident started when Ashok Sharma, a 70-year-old retired policeman, asked the sisters to stop honking their car horn late at night. In response, they reportedly damaged his flower pots and broke into his home, where they threatened him with a knife.

When the police were called, the sisters barricaded themselves in their apartment for hours. When they finally got out, they drove their car recklessly through the complex, crashing into parked cars and injuring bystanders, including a police car. CCTV footage captured the chaos as the sisters raced through the area, pulling a scooter and narrowly avoiding pedestrians.

Joginder, a scooter rider, described the moment his vehicle collided, noting that he was standing outside the compound when the vehicle hit and dragged his scooter some distance. Pradeep Chaurasia, an electrician, was also injured as the car sped through the area.

Police chased the sisters until they were intercepted in Noida Sector 20, where they were taken into custody. The incident follows a previous case in September in which the sisters were charged with unlawful imprisonment and assaulting a security guard after he refused to personally fix a plumbing problem.
