Fatehabad police have arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly sexually assaulting and killing a 4-year-old boy in the village on Friday night, officials said on Sunday.

During the interrogation, the 13-year-old admitted to sexually abusing the boy, which caused the boy to fall to the ground and die, police said. (iStock)

Fatehabad DSP Sanjay Bishnoi said the parents of the deceased minor retrieved his body from a room built behind their house on Friday evening.

“After checking the CCTV footage, we discovered that a 13-year-old boy was playing with the victim. During the interrogation, the 13-year-old admitted to sexually assaulting the boy, causing the boy to fall to the ground and die. The accused was detained and sent to an orphanage in Ambala. We have charged the boy with murder and under various sections of the Criminal Liability Act,” the DSP added.
