Military China conducts basic exercises near Taiwan, the US condemn “intimidation” – FirstPost

Military China stated that they practiced the invasion of key ports and energy sites during “Living Lights” on Wednesday within Taiwan exercises, a democratic island, which he considers his own.

Washington was criticized as “intimidation tactics” and came after President Taiwan Lai Cheng-T, called China “foreign hostile power”.

Named “Grimm-2015A” straits, training are located in the middle and southern part of the duct, the military said that it is a vital artery for global delivery.

The military stated that he conducted “Far Drills in Real Time” and practiced “simulated goals of key ports and energy structures” during exercises.

Wednesday exercises are intended to “check the capabilities of troops” in areas such as “blockade and control, accurate strikes for key goals,” – said Senior Colonel Shi Yi, press -secretary of the command of the Eastern theater of the Chinese military.

Taipei condemned China’s workout.

A 23 million island is a potential outbreak between China and the US, which is the most important Taiwan security partner.

The US State Department has stated that “aggressive” Beijing’s military activity and Taiwan “serve only to increase tensions and are at risk of region and prosperity.”

Chinese leaders are vigorously opposed to the support of Washington Taiwan and the Destie Lai, whom they call a “separatist”.

Drills in the strait come a day after China has sent its army, naval, airy and rocket forces on Taiwan for exercises, Beijing aimed at practice for “precise strikes” and the island’s blockade.

This prompted Taipei to send his own air and maritime forces within the “fast response.”

The Taiwan Ministry of Defense stated that on Tuesday China launched 21 wars around the island, including a group of aircraft carriers, as well as 71 vessels of aircraft and four coasts.

It was the largest number of warships found within one day in almost a year, and the most aircraft since October 2024.

The Chinese Command of the Eastern Theater continued its propaganda on Wednesday, placing a poster “paralyzing strikes” on its account Weibo, showing the Chinese forces surrounding Taiwan and shooting rockets on the island.

Meng Swinking, Professor of the National Defense University of Place, warned Taiwan vulnerable to interruptions due to lack of energy and other resources.

“In the end, the ordinary people of the island suffer,” Menng said in a video transmitted by a state -owned broadcast of video surveillance.

“Strong” restraint

Beijing has increased the deployment of fighter jets and naval vessels around Taiwan in recent years to make his claim for sovereignty, which Taibey rejects.

The voltage increased from the moment of joint in May 2024 and accepted more rigid rhetoric than his predecessor Tsi Ing-Wen in protecting the island’s sovereignty.

While Taiwan considers himself a sovereign country, only 11 are predominantly Pacific and Caribbean, and the Vatican recognizes his claim for statehood.

Last month, Lai called China a “foreign hostile force” and offered 17 measures to combat growing Chinese espionage and infiltration.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset promised “reliable, ready and reliable restraint” in the Strait during a visit to the region last week.

Taipeya Win-Ti Sun analyst said China was using a “stress test after stress test” to evaluate the support of US President Donald Trump Taiwan and other allies in the region.

“China creates an opportunity after Trump’s administration publicly shows how its support & mldr; weaker or conditional than in previous years,” Sun AFP said.

The United States is legally obliged to provide Taiwan’s weapons, but Washington has long maintained “strategic ambiguity” when it comes to whether he would deploy his military to protect the island from a Chinese attack.

There is anxiety about Trump’s willingness to protect Taiwan, especially after he has increased the support of the United States in Ukraine.

China has performed several large -scale exercises around the island in recent years, which are often described as rehearsals for blockade and seizures.

Analysts suggest that China is trying faster to try the blockade of Taiwan than to launch a common invasion that has been more risky and requires a huge military deployment.

Communist China claims that Taiwan has been part of his territory since ancient times, but he has never managed the island.

The island has partially or fully ruled Dutch, Spanish, pricing dynasty and China, and inhabited by indigenous tribes for thousands of years.
