Besemerivets died after the shooting on Thursday evening

BESSEMER, Alabama (WBRC) – Bessemer police are investigating a homicide after a shooting Thursday night that left one person dead.

Tavares Deone Moore, 44, was shot and killed in the attack, which was reported just before 9 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s report.

The shooting happened in the 2900 block of 9th Avenue North in Bessemer.

Police said Moore was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
