Police have released more details about nearly 2 dozen shootings in South Peoria

PEORIA (25News now) – Peoria police said two buildings were hit by gunfire after receiving three ShotSpotter alerts of 23 shots fired in the South Peoria neighborhood Saturday night.

Police said no one was injured and they have no suspect information after responding to a ShotSpotter alert in the 2000 block of West Krause Avenue near South Griswold Street around 8:10 p.m.

The first warning indicated that 18 shells had been fired, followed shortly by four shells and one shell.

Police are continuing their investigation.
