A Saskatchewan family grieving the abduction and murder of their son is asking for his remains to be returned after they were stolen along with a truck from a Calgary residence.

On October 29, Shannon Harriock was in Calgary to visit the father of her late son, Allan, who was murdered in early 2020. Harriok said she was moving to Calgary.

On October 30, she woke up to find her truck with Allan’s ashes gone.

“The ashes are in a cream-colored urn with silver trim,” she told CTV News in an email. “Any kind of contact is appreciated.”

Garioch said she contacted police, who found some of the contents of her truck in the dumpster, but not the urn containing her son’s ashes.

“We just want our son’s remains back,” she said.

On February 25, 2020, Allan Douglas Harrioch, who lived in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, went missing after failing to contact his family.

The three were eventually found guilty of multiple counts, including murder, forcible confinement, breaking and entering and assault with a weapon.

Garrioch’s remains were discovered in the rural community of Bayne, Sask.
