Harris “will win quite comfortably”

GOP strategist Stuart Stevens suggested in a recent interview that Vice President Harris is running what looks like “the best presidential campaign in history.”

“I think the Harris campaign is doing something that we’re probably going to look back on the best presidential campaign ever” Stevens, a former adviser to Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), told Vanity Fair’s Joe Hagan.

“Harris will win quite comfortably. I think Harris will win by a bigger margin than he did in 2020. (Republicans) will say this election was rigged and the Republican Party will be defeated again. And it will be very, very ugly,” Stevens later added.

Stevens also praised the Democratic campaign solving various issues this election cycle.

“Harris’ campaign balanced addressing the issues you would deal with in a normal race — the economy, the border — while also reminding people that this is by no means a normal race,” he said.

Meanwhile, former President Trump’s plan, Stephens noted, is focused on “voter intimidation.”

“There is no plan except to scare the voters,” the strategist said, adding later that “it’s a very chaotic campaign that has no focus.”

When asked about any potential future plans for Trump senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita, known for his quick run against former Secretary of State John Kerry (D) during his 2004 presidential bid, Stevens recalled LaCivita’s previous attacks on the LGBT community.

“Well, the closest will be attacks on transsexual politics. But that’s a policy that was put in place when Trump was president, his own Bureau of Prisons,” he said, referring to 2018 Policy Changes The Justice Department has revoked protections for transgender inmates in federal prisons.

“And there are two ways of looking at it: first, you can say, well, they’re doing it because it works; second, they do it because they don’t know what else to do. I think it’s more the latter than the former,” Stevens added.

With the election less than two weeks away, Harris and Trump are going head-to-head. The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters survey index shows the vice president has a narrow lead over his GOP rival nationally — with 48.7 percent approval to Trump’s 47.7 percent.
