Delhi traffic cops pulled the hood of a car over 20 meters in a shocking hit-and-run incident | Latest news from India

The driver obeyed the constable’s instructions, but tried to flee the scene at speed, approaching the policemen on duty.

Two traffic police personnel on duty were allegedly hit by a car and dragged nearly 20 meters in southwest Delhi on Saturday, news agency PTI reported.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under the articles of attempted murder and obstruction of official duties.

The law enforcement officers reported that they have established the identity of the owner of the car, who will be arrested soon.

The incident took place at around 7.45 pm at Behr Sarai traffic lights near Vedant Deshika Marg. The crime came to light when the Kishan Garh police station received a PCR call that a car had hit the policemen and fled the scene.

The video of the incident went viral on social networks. One video shows two police officers holding the hood of a car while the driver carries them a good distance away. It is reported that the driver managed to escape from the scene.

“The injuries sustained by ASI Pramod and Head Constable Sailesh were minor. But the intention was to kill them. “Criminal proceedings have been opened on the fact of attempted murder and obstructing the performance of official duties and on the fact of creating a danger to the lives of citizens,” the police officer said.

Police dispatched a team to the spot and the two injured policemen, Assistant Inspector General (ASI) Pramod and Head Constable Sailesh Chouhan, were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital in a minibus for PCR. The two police officers are reported to be out of danger and stable.

Two police officers said that they conduct routine checks for violations of traffic rules and issue citations. The head constable signaled the accused to stop, as the car ran a red light.

The driver obeyed the constable’s instructions, but tried to flee the scene at speed, approaching the policemen on duty. During the escape attempt, the car reportedly carried the staff for approximately 20 meters before speeding away from the scene.
