The case of the collision in Delhi: In a hit-and-run incident, two Delhi Traffic Police personnel were hit and dragged about 20 meters by a car while on duty in southwest Delhi, a police officer said.

According to police, the incident took place on Saturday evening (November 2) at around 7.45 pm at the Ber Sarai traffic light near Vedant Deshika Marg.

“A PCR call was received at the Kishan Garh police station that an unknown vehicle had hit the on-duty traffic police inspectors and fled the scene,” the officer said.

According to him, a team was immediately dispatched to the spot and found that the injured personnel were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital in a minibus for PCR. The team reached the hospital and found Assistant Deputy Inspector General (ASI) Pramod and Head Constable (HC) Sailesh Chouhan conscious and in a stable condition, the officer said.

According to their statements, they conducted the usual showdowns for traffic violations. Around 7:45 p.m., the vehicle ran a red light and when Sailesh signaled to stop, the driver initially obeyed but suddenly tried to flee, dragging both men about 20 meters before speeding away from the scene, the officer said.

The investigative team examined the area of ​​the event.

“Injuries sustained by ASI Pramod and Head Constable Sailesh are reported to be minor. But the intention was to kill them. A case of attempt to murder and obstruction of duty and charges of endangering life of citizens have been registered,” – said the officer.

During this, the police were dragged for about 20 meters before the car hit them and the driver fled the scene. The authorities emphasize the seriousness of the situation, emphasizing the risks that traffic police officers face every day while performing their duties.

The law enforcement officers reported that they have established the identity of the owner of the vehicle and will soon arrest him.
