Arlo Essential 2nd Gen Review – More resolution, but at what cost?

I thought I’d have fun and name the Arlo Essential 2K outdoor security cameras “Fred” and “Doris”. This is mainly because the “Person Detected on Fred” and “Animal Detected on Doris” alerts made me laugh. You might be less funny than me and want to give your cameras more boring names (perhaps their locations). Hey, I’m not judging.

Of course, I had to download the Arlo Secure app to use and name them – and it wasn’t easy to connect the app to the devices. Holding down the camera button until the light starts flashing does not guarantee pairing. Surprisingly, when I took each camera up separately and tried it, the connection was much easier, so maybe the app was confused by having two cameras in front of it?
