Suspect Arrested in Murder After Midtown Reno Bar Shooting: 1 Dead, 3 Injured

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one person dead and three others injured in downtown Reno early Saturday morning.

Johnpaul Seger, 42, was arrested at a home in the 400 block of Cedar Street in Reno less than 12 hours after he allegedly opened fire at a Midtown bar just after midnight.

Police responded to Shea’s Tavern on Nov. 2 for a report of a shooting and found four adult victims with gunshot wounds. One of the victims died on the spot, the others were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. One adult man remains in serious condition, while another man and woman are considered stable.

Seger has been charged with one count of first degree murder, three counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm after the shooting.

Although the motive has not yet been established, police believe that the fatal shooting was isolated and there is no particular threat to the public.

HAZMAT crew members were outside the bar most of Saturday clearing the scene and removing any biohazardous materials from the sidewalk.

Investigators still want to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the shooting. If you were in the area and saw the shooting, contact the police or an undercover witness immediately.

According to the Nevada Department of Corrections inmate searchBefore this arrest, Seger spent time in prison for assault with a deadly weapon.
