A Thatcham man and two teenagers were arrested after the police raid

An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, both from Thatcham, have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an ambulance worker.

A 15-year-old girl, also from Thatcham, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated disorder and criminal damage.

Both girls were released on police bail, while the man remains in custody.

Police said the attacks came after two local officers spotted a member of the public who reported his moped had been pushed and damaged.

Officers arrested the teenager on suspicion of criminal damage, but the teenager “became disruptive”, police said.

“Another male became involved and an argument ensued,” the report said, adding that the teenager was “arrested in connection with an incident involving criminal damage.”

Detective Constable Bill Sykes said: “This incident happened outside a coffee shop and we are aware that members of the public witnessed this incident.”

He urged anyone with information to contact the police.
