White County Public Safety is responding to numerous incidents…

White County Public Safety units responded to three separate incidents on Friday, November 1st.

At approximately 2:37 p.m., units were dispatched to a mobile home fire in the 200 block of Mossy Acres Drive in Cleveland.

The person reporting the fire reported that smoke was coming from the kitchen of the apartment.

First arriving units reported smoke visible from the outside of the mobile home and the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Units were able to quickly eliminate and contain the fire in the kitchen part of the house.

White County EMS treated two people at the scene, but no one required transport.

Firefighters remained at the scene to ventilate the building, remove smoke and extinguish hot spots to prevent re-ignition.

A little more than three hours later, at approximately 5:38 p.m., units called Mountain Rescue at Unicoi State Park.

The first report claimed that a person had fallen while running on the trails during a cross country event held in the park.

Upon arrival at the scene, the EMS and fire crews responded to the trail and within four minutes of entering the trail, contact was made with the patient.

The patient was able to get off the trail, was treated and transported by White County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.

While units remained at the Mountain Rescue scene, White County dispatch received a call from a homeowner reporting a fire in the wall of their home at approximately 6:16 p.m.

First arriving units helped the occupants out of the residence, and staff confirmed that the fire was contained to one wall in the building.

One lane of Asbestova Road, where the fire occurred, was temporarily closed to accommodate ambulances near the scene.

Firefighters reached the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
