7 editor-approved suede boots for fall

7 editor-approved suede boots for fall

I’m picky! I’m a snob! I am not easy to please! All of these phrases, which tend to have a negative connotation, I’m now shouting from the rooftops because I don’t care. I think being in particular– the best sounding word of all is good. You know what you like, and you won’t settle for anything less. The same can be said for a partner (I have the best!), a house (I love our apartment on the Upper East Side so much!), the food we eat, etc. but, this story is about shoesand if you know me, you probably know I’m obsessed with shoes. I live and breathe shoes, and fall is my favorite season because of one style in particular: suede boots.

Forget motorcycle boots or combat options. Sure, that’s cool and all, but I realize I don’t wear these brighter, edgier shoes as often as I do my soft, supple suede heels. And there’s a simple reason: suede boots are a much more versatile look, meaning they go well with everything and suit any vibe you’re trying to achieve. I’ve worn mine with everything from baggy jeans to pleated skirts to leather dresses and every time they just worked.

But I’m definitely not going to buy it suede bootsor. Over the years, I’ve probably tried about 200 options, but I can officially say that I found seven that passed all the tests. Most of the below are mine, while others are what’s currently in my cart.

Neil J. Rodgers Eva Slouch Boot

Neil Jay Rogers

Of course I’m biased because these shoes are basically named after me – just kidding, not really. Besides the great name, these boots are from Neil J. Rodgers having everything I love in a boot – a luxurious suede look, a perfect silhouette, an easy to wear heel and a roomy toe box. The cherry on top? They are made in Italy and IYKYK. They’re expensive, but they’re an investment piece that you’ll wear year after year. Bonus: they’re comfortable right out of the box, and I can attest to that.

New Stevie J.Crew ankle boots

J. Crew

I don’t own them yet J.Crew bootsbut i will soon They’re perfect in every way, from the gorgeous walnut brown shade to the ankle length that’s slightly higher than most traditional ankle boots. This means I can also easily tuck in my cropped jeans, but the leg isn’t too wide, so they can easily be worn under wide leg jeans too. They are also on sale so I obviously have to get them.

Scarlett Chase Portia 75 Elastic Boots

Scarlett Chase

If you want sexy suede boots as comfortable as sneakers get, look no further than this pair from Scarlett Chase. The stretchy leather is incredibly comfortable, conforms to your foot (I have the wider side!), and the game-changing cushioned interior will make you think you’re not wearing heels at all. . The suede is also weatherproof, so you can technically get in the rain wearing them without running through them, although I always recommend applying a suede protector just in case.

Boots Thursday Boot Luna Boot

Thursday Boot Company

Simple, lightweight suede boots with a nice design and easy to wear? These Thursdays. If you know me, you’ll know that I’m also a huge fan of Thursday Boots; I also own the Heartbreak style those massive combat bootsbut the next couple i do is these Luna boots. A wooden heel adds dimension, while the sand suede exterior is striking. Other notable features include a non-slip sole and comfortable cushioning insoles.
