Cyberabad police will expand the CCTV system in high traffic areas and illegal parking areas

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police has discussed increasing the scope of video surveillance by installing cameras at critical traffic junctions, illegal parking hotspots and high traffic areas. There was also talk of a series of future large-scale DUI operations.

During a traffic review meeting at Cyberabad Police Station on Friday, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Dr. Joel Davis, IPS, and other officials discussed the ongoing efforts and strategies to streamline traffic flow and enforce traffic rules in jurisdiction of Cyberabad.

During the meeting, the Joint Commissioner highlighted the important initiatives taken by the Cyberabad Police to improve traffic management and enforcement. The main topic of discussion was the expansion of the coverage area of ​​video surveillance systems. In addition to the mentioned zones, it is planned to install additional installations for high-risk zones and traffic jams by next month.

Stop drunk driving incidents

The Joint Commissioner also discussed the upcoming mega-operations on drinking and driving and other enforcement measures aimed at dangerous driving practices.

Unauthorized parking hotspots have been identified and enforcement measures are being put in place to deal with these issues along with no parking.

Traffic jams mainly on weekdays

Additionally, a daily analysis of traffic intensity indicated maximum congestion on weekdays with minimal problems on weekends and Sundays. Road widening and road repair work is currently underway, focusing on high-traffic and accident-prone areas.

The meeting also discussed major traffic violations such as driving without a license, failing to signal, unauthorized entry and using a mobile phone while driving. Special attention was paid to DCMs, who are prohibited from entering certain places at certain times, with violations recorded and appropriate measures taken.

A targeted safety campaign targeting speeding, helmet enforcement and underage driving is in full swing. Repeat offenders face more severe penalties, including possible revocation of the vehicle’s registration.

Evaluation of traffic measures

This review meeting served as a platform to assess the current traffic control measures and identify further improvements to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow in the Cyberabad region.

The meeting was attended by several officers including Medchal Traffic ADCP Veeranna, Madhapur Traffic ADCP Shivakumar, Shamshabad Traffic ACP Nagabusanam, Madhapur Traffic ACP Satyanarayana, Rajendranagar Traffic ACP Balaji, Kukatpally Traffic ACP K Venkataiah, Medchal Traffic ACP K Venkatareddy and all Traffic Traffic inspectors and other employees.
