1 dead, 1 arrested after shooting in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. – A man was killed and another was detained by police after fatal shooting near TacomaThea Foss Waterway.

Around 11 a.m., police received a report of a shooting near East D Street and East 15th Street.

Upon arrival, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. Tacoma firefighters arrived on the scene and attempted to save the man’s life, but the man died from his injuries.

Authorities say that another man, probably involved in the shooting, was detained by the police and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

Investigators are gathering evidence at the scene, and police confirmed that the homicide investigation is ongoing.
