Kelly Stafford opens up about jealousy over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s NFL media frenzy

Kelly Stafford admitted that she was jealous of Taylor Swift and Travis KelceNFL media frenzy that arose last fall.

In the episode The morning after podcast released on Thursday (October 31), the wife of the Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford admitted that her recent sly remark about the NFL’s focus on Swift and Kelsey made her jealous. Ahead of the 2024 football season, she commented that she “doesn’t want to see four more months of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coverage.”

The mother-of-four tried to clear the air by saying that she did not like the pop star at all.

“I feel like there’s a cloud over Taylor Swift,” she said. “I never said I didn’t like Taylor Swift — never.”

She admitted that she was “tired” of the NFL focusing on Swift and thereby overshadowing the hard work of some NFL players. However, she stressed that this problem was not the fault of the singer, but the fault of the NFL.

“Can she do anything about it? No, she can’t,” she shared, noting that the media circus and the deliberate business of the NFL is trying to play into it, which bothers her. “I’m a little jealous of the fact that they’re getting so much attention and all of a sudden the football game is a sideshow . So yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the better of me.”

Kelly dived into her thought process, unpacking why the constant exposure was able to get under her skin.

“I was like, ‘Why did I feel this way?’ And it really is, I had jealousy issues with her suddenly being the main show in NFL football…or their relationship,” she explained. “And I’m watching my husband work his sh*t off and I watch all these guys in the league work their sh*t off and all of a sudden they’re like a minor show. So, that’s where the species came from.”

Although she struggles with feelings of jealousy, Stafford says she and her family are fans of Swift’s music.

“I was a fan of hers when she was a country star because she and I are the same age, so I grew up listening to her music,” she said, adding that last month she adopted daughters Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter. , 6, and Tyler, 4 – to see the pop star perform during her Eras Tour stop in New Orleans. She noted that the concert was an “experience for a lifetime.”

“I honestly think my girls are more proud of their dad because he plays a sport that Taylor Swift loves,” she explained. “At the end of the day, I’m grateful for everything.”
