South Dakota woman takes minor from Mississippi and pleads guilty to child pornography

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – A South Dakota woman accused of seducing a minor and possessing child pornography changed her plea in federal court Friday.

Emily Yiri, 26, pleaded guilty to seven separate charges, including two counts of soliciting a minor to travel for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity, travel with the intent of a sexual nature, possession of child pornography, transportation of obscene material, obstruction of justice and tampering with a witness.

According to the statement of facts, Yiri came to Mississippi from South Dakota to have sex with a 15-year-old girl back in June 2022. Jiri then took the girl back to South Dakota with the intention of having a relationship with her.

It also states that Yiri tried to convince another person not to testify against her.

For participating in these crimes, Yeri can face up to 120 years in prison.
