An elderly man was allegedly beaten to death in Sector 18 in Faridabad because he objected to people bursting firecrackers, news agency PTI reported

A case was opened based on the statement of the victim’s son.

The complainant, Vinod, said three men, Raju, Dheeraj and Nandu, burst firecrackers in front of the victim’s residence in a housing authority colony in Sector 18 on Thursday evening.

The victim objected to this, a quarrel arose between them, after which Vinod calmed down the situation.

However, the three accused allegedly returned and started bursting firecrackers in front of their house around one in the morning. When the victim again objected to this, they allegedly beat him, causing him to die on the spot.

The police are looking for the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a family was attacked by neighbors in Faridabad’s Subhash Colony on Thursday evening and a Hindu family alleged that they were attacked by neighbors while their child was bursting crackers. According to them, the neighbors also allegedly sexually assaulted the boy’s sister.

The incident was caught on CCTV, where neighbors can be seen arguing with the family and then attacking them. One man is also seen throwing stones at their house.

The victim’s family filed a complaint with the police, claiming that the neighbors initially threatened the child for bursting firecrackers. When the boy’s mother went to complain about it to a neighbor, they started attacking her.

Neighbors also allegedly attacked the child’s father with sticks and then threw stones at their house. They also sexually assaulted the boy’s sister, the statement said.

After this incident, the family put their house up for sale and said they could not celebrate any holidays in the region.
