Mia Thornton: Why I shared the story of how Karen Huger allegedly cheated on her husband Ray

Mia Thornton wants to bring Karen Huger to justice.

The Real Housewives of Potomac star explains “Virtual Real Tea” by Page Six why she shared her infamous “butt dial” story about Huger’s co-star, which led to the latter allegedly cheating on husband Ray Huger.

“I did it because it just felt right for the time,” Thornton, 39, says of her decision to tell the story during the girls’ trip to Lake Norman, North Carolina, which aired on “RHOP” 27 October installment plan “It wasn’t planned at all.”

There were two factors that contributed to Bravolebrity’s desire to talk about 61-year-old Karen’s alleged past.

Thornton’s friend Joy, who was present at Karen’s wild party in 2021, attended the dinner filmed for the episode, so she was available to corroborate the story on camera.

Additionally, the self-proclaimed “Grande Dame” feuded with Thornton’s childhood friend Jacqueline Blake while on vacation, repeatedly calling the new cast member “a liar” with no evidence of cheating.

“She’s been looking for my girlfriend all day… I just thought she was trying to accuse Jacqueline of being a liar, of not telling the truth and making things up,” Thornton tells Virtual Reali-Tea.

“And I’m like, ‘No, actually, Karen, you’re not telling the truth. You are the only one who dials with the … truth.”

Blake, Thornton and “RHOP” veteran Giselle Bryant alleged that Karen once made tip calls to her co-stars.

“The funniest story is when you left, you called us,” Thornton told Karen on camera. “And you said…you were with someone else and you said, ‘These girls think I’m with Ray.’

Karen, who was married to Ray for decades, said she could not remember ever making such claims.

In a preview for Sunday’s episode, Ashley Darby says she wholeheartedly believes Thornton and Joy’s story.

“The streets came alive with some of Karen’s forays. I heard something, saw something,” she says in her confession. “So I believe with every fiber of my being that Mia and Joy are telling the truth.”

In the same sneak peek, Karen admits that she and Ray have been through combat. However, she makes it clear that she appreciates the support he’s provided since her DUI arrest in march

“We’ve been through this before. We had our moment. There are moments in your marriage, you know? But he didn’t budge… he’s my soldier,” she explains.

“Ray is behind me. He was always there for me and I love him for that. But we’re human and we go through this and we work on our marriage.”

According to Thornton and Bryant, Karen also tried not to call after cocktails after her run-in with the law.

“Look, Karen must have put me on (her) do not disturb list, okay? No, I haven’t (received allegedly drunken calls lately). And I feel like she’s become a little more careful with her cell phone,” Thornton says.

“And it’s good that she does it, because it’s necessary. Stop randomly calling people drunk and then saying you’re not drunk. Like, what is it? … There is nothing wrong with drinking. Just don’t go.”

Meanwhile, Bryant, 54, jokingly told us this she “actually (misses)” such correspondence from Karen

“You never know what you’re going to hear,” she recalled her lively conversations with the founder of the La Dame fragrance. “You never know what she’s going to say.”

In July according to documents received by peopleKaren asked the court to dismiss her case about the DNS. Prosecutors oppose the motion, which has yet to be accepted by a judge.
