Man shot in Fresno at NW apartment complex identified

Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Tyler Haymon, who was killed early Friday at the Windscape Apartments in northwest Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Around 12:10 a.m., officers arrived at the complex at 353 W. Nees Ave. after receiving reports of gunfire. Hamon was found unresponsive in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the back.

Responding officers observed bullet holes in the front door and shell casings on the landing.

Despite the efforts of EMS and officers, Hamon was pronounced dead at Kaiser Hospital a short time later.

Hamon’s death was Fresno’s 27th homicide of the year; by this time in 2023, there were 26, according to police records.
