Final suspect arrested in Laredo murder case

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Laredo Police Department has released information on the city’s fifth homicide of 2024.

On Thursday, October 31st, Luis Alnaim Martinez, 19, was arrested in San Antonio, Texas with the assistance of US Marshals in San Antonio, Laredo and the LPD US Marshals Task Force. He was the last person wanted for the murder of Marco Antonio Viera.

The case began after 21-year-old Vieira was found dead in a black Toyota in Lomas Del Sur and Sud Ejido October 19after reports of shots fired. Police believe he was the target of the shooting.

October 28police executed four arrest warrants in connection with the case. Among those arrested was a 16-year-old from the Webb County Youth Village and three others: 17-year-old Angel Humberto Amaro, 20-year-old Ruben Cavazos and 20-year-old Humberto Campos.

All five are charged with murder in connection with Viera’s death.
