Driver injured in rollover on gravel road near Belgrade, Minn. – West Central Tribune

BELGRADE

— On Thursday morning on the gravel road in the village.

Stearns County.

According to a news release,

Deputies found a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup in a ditch on County Road 116 near Belgrade, and the pickup appeared to roll before landing on its wheels in the crash, which was reported at 7:12 a.m. Thursday.

The driver, identified as Victoria Nelson, 19, of North Division, spoke briefly with deputies as she was treated for her injuries.

According to the report, she told deputies she was driving and lost control on the gravel road. The pickup truck left the roadway and drove onto the entrance to the field.

According to the report, deputies at the scene noted that Nelson did not show any signs of being under the influence. She was taken to CentraCare Hospital in

Painesville

and was released shortly after her injuries were examined.

Two passengers were not injured, the report said. Vincent Contreras, 18, of St. Paul Park, and Zachary Shandorf, 19, of Belgrade, told deputies they were on their way to the New London-Spicer neighborhood to visit Shandorf’s grandmother before the crash.

The Belgrade and Bruten Police Departments, along with Belgrade/Bruten Fire and Rescue, assisted the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office at the scene near the intersection of Stearns County Road 116 and Farmcrest Road, about two and a half miles southeast of Belgrade.
