Lincoln woman charged with 5,000 in unauthorized business expenses

LINCOLN, Neb. (Cologne). A Lincoln woman accused of making unauthorized purchases totaling more than $135,000 using two business credit cards surrendered to authorities Thursday.

Tiffany Isley, 54, is charged with theft by unlawful taking $5,000 or more.

Isley worked as a secretary at Pat Thomas Construction in Lincoln. As part of her work, she was issued a credit card in her name to purchase office supplies and work-related items.

According to the affidavit, the accounting firm that processed the company’s 2023 taxes discovered information about Isley’s credit card spending patterns. Isley is accused of using the company’s card to make unauthorized purchases and then depositing $9,000 into the company’s account.

A detailed analysis of the records showed that Isley made 1,738 unauthorized purchases using two company cards between July 25, 2022, and July 14, 2024, totaling $135,649.41, court documents show.

Ailey turned herself in to the Lancaster County Correctional Facility Thursday morning. She was arraigned and bail was set at 10% of $5,000.

She will return to Lancaster County Court for a hearing on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m
