About the connections of the prequel with the future

About the connections of the prequel with the future

Dexter Morgan may never die. He miraculously survived both “deaths” that would have taken anyone else’s life a Showtime original series and his New blood continuation. The second death was also not followed by the surprise of the woodcutter “peeping” and when New blood ended, Showtime’s Gary Levin called Dexter severe gunshot wounds “an extremely powerful conclusion to our beloved and unusual series.”

So there? Then Dexter has (again) become a streaming phenomenon on Netflix (Showtime sees you too, Yellow jackets), and surprisingly, both Dexter: Resurrection and a Dexter: Original Sin a prequel was greenlit with original showrunner Clyde Phillips. We’re here today to explore how the latter fleshes out the story we’ve previously seen depicted upset Michael C. Hall or Dominic James in the original show. Let’s get started.

Plot

Show time

“I am a killer. But I wasn’t born that way. According to my story. Because of the people around me. They say it takes a village. Raise a killer.” That would be Michael C. Hall’s voice teaser trailer to prepare the audience for Dexter’s inner monologue so that we are not wandering into unfamiliar territory with a ^^^ younger Dexter (Patrick Gibson) who much less hair than its predecessors. More aerodynamics probably won’t make it any less deadly.

It’s show time

The “I wasn’t born this way” statement and the zoom in on Dexter’s colleagues in the trailer make me wonder how much the prequel series will pander to the concept of “born in blood” (due to Dexter witnessing his mother’s murder as a child). However, the strong presence of Harry Morgan (now portrayed by Christian Slater) suggests that there will be no change in how Dad helped him develop the Codex after admitting that Dexter’s Dark Passenger was on board and needed at least guide, not allow loose.

It’s show time

Now about connections with the future. It is obvious that Hall’s voice will provide a sound connection with Dexterbut Game Rant noted interesting character posted on IMDb for Original sin. That would be the Iron Lake Doctor (played by Dante Miles), who hails from a town in upstate New York where Dexter: New blood took place Does this mean we’ll see a flash forward in this prequel? This speculation has yet to be confirmed, so stay tuned.

We currently know that the prequel will take place in Miami in 1991, as Dexter begins to find a foothold in law enforcement. See synopsis:

“Dexter: Original Sin” tells the story of how Dexter (Patrick Gibson) transforms from a student to a vengeful serial killer. When his bloodthirsty desires can no longer be ignored, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. Guided by his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be cut off from society without getting on the radar of law enforcement. It’s a special challenge for young Dexter as he begins his internship at the Miami Police Department.

Besides, The Wall Street Journal reported that Showtime was feeling down other brancheswhich may include the Trinity Killer’s origin story long before he became like John Lithgow. The Dexter The universe is indeed expanding rapidly.

Showtime is recruiting TV stars.

In addition to Hall as an inner monologue by Dexter Morgan and Patrick Gibson (OA, Shadow and bone) as the younger Dexter, ex-McDreamy Patrick Dempsey will play Aaron Spencer, a Miami police homicide captain. In addition, Sarah Michelle Gellar has been cast as CSI Chief Dexter, Tanya Martin with James Martinez as the younger Angel Batista (“an up-and-coming homicide detective who rules the heart”).

Rounding out the cast are Christina Milian (as homicide detective Maria LaGuerta), Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka (a “forensic analyst willing to share his expertise while relishing the opportunity to mentor his new intern Dexter Morgan”) and Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt (Harry’s partner/confidant).
