Two years later, Young bandit (real name: Jeffrey Williams) successfully fought for his own release from prison. After a trial that lasted almost a year, the rapper pleaded guilty to several gang, drug and gun related charges. According to the agreement, Young Thug must stay away from the metro Atlanta area for the first 10 years of his probation, except for special occasions and family situations. The judge sentenced him to 40 years in prison, replacing the first five years with time served. Associated Press. The sentence provides for 15 years of conditional imprisonment. If the rapper serves the probationary period, another 20 years will be substituted for time served, AP reports.

“I take responsibility for my crimes, for my accusations,” he told the court in October 2024.
