Barry Keoghan in Sharp Blinders First Look

Barry Keoghan in Sharp Blinders First Look

Barry Keoghan is officially part of “Peaky Blinders” gang.

Netflix took to social media on Friday to reveal the first look at the Saltburn actor in the upcoming spin-off film. In the shot, he is driving a truck wearing a cap, leather jacket and a fresh cut on his face.

Despite Keoghan’s portrayal, little is known about his character or the role he will play in the film.

In the film, Keoghan joins fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy, who returns as Tommy Shelby. Other returning stars include Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Pekki Lee and Ian Peck. In addition to Keogh, another newcomer is Jay Licurgo (Steve, Half-Bad: The Prodigal Son and the Devil Himself), whose role has also not been disclosed.

The director of the film will be Tom Harper, who previously shot several episodes of the series. Sharpshooters premiered in 2013 on BBC Two, and Netflix subsequently acquired the US rights to the show. Its sixth and final season aired in 2022, and in June it was announced that a feature film was in the works.

Knight wrote the screenplay for Sharp Blinders and produced alongside Murphy, Caryn Mandabach and Guy Healy. Harper, David Koss, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason are executive producers.

Production of the film began in September, when a first look at Murphy’s character was discovered. The film’s plot also remains under wraps, but it’s described as an “epic continuation of the multi-part gangster saga set on the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s.”
