Two dead, 6 injured in shooting in Orlando during Halloween celebration

ORLANDO — Two people were shot and six others were injured during a Halloween party in downtown Orlando, Florida, authorities said.

The shooting happened around one in the morning on Friday.

The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody, the police said. The age of the victims is from 19 to 39 years.

The police said that at the time of the shooting, about 100 police officers were working in the city center.

There was no word on a motive.
