In a tight race for the White House, only 93 electoral votes can be won key states of oscillation that will decide the election.

Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, was ground zero for Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. The outcome of that months-long battle in the Keystone State will be known after the polls close on Tuesday.

For Harris, capturing Pennsylvania could almost guarantee her a path to the White House. That’s why.

How many electoral votes does Harris need?

According to projections, Vice President Kamala Harris will lock in 226 electoral votes from states that lean blue.

Former President Donald Trump could count 219 electoral votes in his column based on current projections.

That means Harris needs 44 more electoral votes to reach the 270 needed, with Pennsylvania’s 19 votes providing a significant boost to that goal. That would leave just 74 electoral votes, of which Trump would need 51 and Harris only 25.

Harris would only need to take Michigan (15) and Wisconsin (10) to climb over the 270 mark.

The surveys in the battleground states have been as volatile as the name “swing” implies, with both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris having incredibly low numbers at different times.
