After the incident in Preston, the driver was arrested and the car was impounded.




At around 3am this morning (November 1), police said a Subaru failed to stop for traffic police units in Preston – leading to a chase that reached speeds of up to 120mph.

The car was abandoned in Penwortham and the driver was soon arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving. The vehicle was seized and a number of faults were found.

A police spokesman said: “This Subaru failed to stop for an RPU officer in Preston, reaching speeds of up to 120mph before being abandoned in Penwortham.

“The driver was detained for driving while intoxicated. The vehicle was impounded and also banned due to a number of defects.”
