Police Chief Vidor’s dashcam video captured the hot pursuit of the suspect at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour

The chase leader was part of a pursuit that turned into a wild ride when an armed suspect stole a pickup truck and led multiple officers on a chase at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour.

The suspect was finally caught after a pursuit that began shortly after 7 a.m. and spanned four counties.

Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll shared his dash cam with KFDM.

The pursuit began when a man with a gun stole a 2022 Dodge pickup truck in Orange. The suspect fled with several services in hot pursuit.

Chief Carroll joined the chase, encountering other law enforcement.

“Outside lane, Brooks Road, speed 117,” Chief Carroll can be heard saying at one point in the dashcam video as the chase continued westbound in Jefferson County.

Chief Carroll and the others walked through the pouring rain. He stopped the chase when Chambers County officers joined him.

The suspect eventually ended up in Channelview, then turned around and sped toward Baytown, where he ran out on bail and was finally caught.

Chief Carroll says at least eight law enforcement agencies were involved in trying to stop the suspect when they learned he was armed.
