Blood River Haunted House: A Spooky Community Tradition


As Halloween night begins, sounds of excitement and screams fill the air Blood River Haunted Houseattracting eager visitors from the surrounding area.

Located on Wood River Drive, this haunted house has become a beloved annual event created by the Tierney family in honor of a lost brother and friend. The couple started this project many years ago with a vision to not only entertain, but also to strengthen the ties between the community.

“It unites the community. It gives you the opportunity to be who you want to be. All the kids come out, including the teenagers, and it gives them something to do,” JD Tierney said. “It keeps them off the streets and gives them a neighborhood experience.”

The haunted house officially opened its doors around 5 p.m. and will continue to welcome visitors throughout the Halloween season as long as the crowds continue to arrive. With a combination of live actors, animation and carefully crafted scares, attendees will be treated to an immersive experience that leaves them wanting more.

Local resident Jonathan Ortiz shared his excitement.

“The last part. The woman almost got me. She was almost out of there. Although it was daytime, I almost screamed! he said excitedly.

His enthusiasm was echoed by other neighbors who praised the creativity and effort put into the haunted house.

“It was very interesting. I loved how it felt and how it looked. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back next year; it’s very nice,” Ortiz said.

The Tierneys expressed their gratitude to the community for their support and participation.

“We appreciate everyone who comes to visit our haunted house. See you next Halloween!” they said

As families and friends gather for this holiday event, the Blood River Haunted House continues to be a time-honored tradition, fostering fellowship and providing a safe space for thrills and chills during the Halloween season.
