An OCSO deputy used a Taser on a man who threatened to kill him

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has released body camera footage of the incident that happened on Wednesday.

According to the OCSO, the deputy in the video was forced to use a stun gun to control the man who threatened to kill his mother and dog with a knife.

The man also waved a hammer at the defendant MP.

Brad Lee Jones was accused of:

  • Assault and beating of a peacekeeping officer
  • Threat of committing acts of violence
  • Resisting arrest

OCSO said his department has a long history of trying to help Jones with mental health issues and is working to get him into various programs.

“Mental health issues have become a serious crisis in Oklahoma County and across the country,” said Sheriff Tommy Johnson III. used a less lethal means of control over him to get him the help he needed.”
