Up-and-coming DC rapper shot dead outside Commanders Stadium

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MARYLANDA rising D.C. rapper known as “3coMMa$” was gunned down outside Commanders Stadium in a brazen daytime attack Thursday, leaving family and friends in a frenzy and police scrambling to catch the killer.

Treshawn, a father of three and an up-and-coming figure in the D.C. hip-hop scene, was killed shortly before noon on Atlee Drive, about a half-mile from Northwest Stadium.

Police say he was found with multiple gunshot wounds and despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The rapper’s sister, Dana Sparrow, told FOX 5 the tragedy was an incredible blow to the family, especially one year after their mother died from cancer.

“He was a good father of three boys, the second oldest of our mother’s four children. It’s heartbreaking,” Sparrow said.

Friends and family gathered at the scene in disbelief, with some speculating about a possible motive.

“They’re jealous,” Dana said. “My brother used to come and go, he was light-skinned, he got money, he did his business. They hated it.”

Neighbors reported hearing a flurry of gunshots — one resident, Sharni Wallace, said she thought they were fireworks at first.

“It just kept going,” Wallace said. “I thought it wasn’t fireworks … about 15 or 20 (shots).”

The search for suspects and a motive is ongoing as police urge anyone with information to come forward.

Dana noted the dire reality of life in the District, saying, “We’re dealing with a lot of problems right now, but whoever did this is going to get karma.”

Prince George’s County police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives immediately.
