Another 24 charges have been filed against a man who drove a school bus while intoxicated

CAMDENTON, MO (KMIZ)

A Sunrise Beach man accused of driving a school bus while intoxicated faces more than two dozen other charges.

Brett Emehiser was charged with 43 counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of impaired driving. The amended complaint was filed on Monday. He is not listed in the Camden County Jail.

He was previously incriminated only 20 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 14 at 1 p.m.

Emheiser is accused of driving a school bus carrying at least 20 students under the age of 17 under the influence in September.

Court documents in earlier reports say witnesses saw the bus reverse with other vehicles nearly in it. According to court documents, the bus was pulled to the side of the road when the Missouri State Patrol arrived on the scene.

Emechizer failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18, well over the legal limit of 0.08, the probable cause statement said.
