Prosecutors in Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ an ongoing lawsuit has denied the intentional leak of footage of the disgraced rapper physically assaulting his now-ex Cassie in 2016.

“The court must deny the leak motion for the simple reason that defendant has failed to demonstrate the leak of any grand jury material,” the court documents state. “Without any factual basis, the Leak Motion seeks to suppress highly probative evidence — a video of Combs brutally physically assaulting a victim in March 2016 that was released to the media in May 2024 — by claiming it was grand jury material, promulgated by the government. agents of CNN”.

The motion added, “However, to the defendant’s full knowledge, the video was not in the government’s possession at the time of CNN’s publication, and the government has never and never received the video through the grand jury process.”

In the documents, the attorneys also expressed “serious concerns” about Diddy’s alleged victims and witnesses.

“Here, as noted in the indictment and at the bail hearing, the defendant has a significant history of violence and obstruction,” the statement said. “Really, Judge Carter it was established by clear and convincing evidence at the conclusion of the second hearing that the defendant “is a danger of obstruction of justice and witness tampering” and “poses a danger to the safety of others in the community at large.” Given the defendant’s history, the government has serious concerns about the safety of victims and the potential for witness tampering if the defendant is provided with a list of victims’ names.”

CNN received and posted the video in May, which showed Diddy, now 54, grabbing Cassie, now 37, by the neck, pushing, dragging and kicking her at a Los Angeles hotel. The video was shot in 2016.
