A dead body was found on a nearby river bank in Daviess Co.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – Owensboro Police say a body was found Wednesday in Daviess County.

While police were on the call at 4:30 p.m., a man walking his dog approached police and told them he had found a body nearby on the river bank.

The police managed to find the dead man in the nearby forest near the river bank.

According to the press release, when the body was found, it was in the late stages of decomposition.

The body was sent for forensic examination.

Officials say foul play is not suspected at this time, but the results of a forensic examination are pending.

The identity of the person found remains unknown.
