Lincoln woman charged with allegedly spending more than 0,000 on unauthorized transactions

A 54-year-old Lincoln woman was charged Thursday after her employer discovered more than $130,000 in unauthorized purchases on company credit cards, according to court documents.

Tiffany Isley was charged with unlawful possession over $5,000.

Ailey worked in a construction company as a secretary. As part of her employment, she was issued a credit card in her name to be used for office supplies and other work-related items, according to probable cause.

The disapproved transactions were discovered after the company hired an accounting firm to complete its 2023 tax calculations. During the process, the firm alerted the business owner to troubling spending patterns, police say.

The owner confronted Ailey, who, after speaking with the owner, deposited $9,000 into the company’s account.

After reviewing the records, it was discovered that Ailey allegedly made unauthorized purchases using two different company credit cards. Between July 2022 and July 2024, police believe Isley made at least 1,738 purchases totaling $135,649.41.

Isley turned herself in to the Lancaster County Jail on Thursday.

Judge Timothy Phillips set her bond at $5,000, meaning she will have to pay $500 to be released.
