Young Thug pleads guilty in YSL RICO trial

Hip-hop superstar and rapper Young Thug has entered into a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

The rapper, who goes by the name Jeffrey Williams, has been in prison since 2022 on a widespread corruption and corrupt organization indictment in Fulton County.

Channel 2 news was at the Fulton County Courthouse where the plea deal was just one of several developments in the longest trial in Georgia history.

Williams has been behind bars since May 2022.

Williams changed his plea to gang-related charges. This is a no-deal plea deal, which means that the final sentencing decision rests with the judge.

He pleaded no contest to two counts, including RICO violations.

According to Douglas Weinstein, the attorney for Deamonte Kendrick, aka Yak Gotti, “Yak Gotti has rejected the latest plea offer from the state and intends to take it to a jury, get an acquittal and go home.”

Two other defendants accepted plea deals this week.

Quamarvius Nichols on Tuesday agreed to plead guilty on one count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

Nichols was sentenced to 20 years with seven consecutive terms.

The next day, Rodalius Ryan accepted a plea dealwho is also charged with violating the RICO Act.
