Six registered sex offenders arrested in Gadsden County during Operation Creepy Sweep, FDLE reports

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Six registered sex offenders were arrested in the days leading up to Halloween during Operation Spooky Sweep, according to a news release from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

The FDLE and the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office conducted the operation to ensure that registered sex offenders and predators are complying with Florida’s registration laws, the FDLE said. The purpose of the investigation was to “make sure the neighborhood is safe for Halloween trick-or-treating,” according to authorities.

“Officials made ‘physical contact with more than 50 registrants residing in Gadsden County to confirm that they remain in compliance with registration laws,'” FDLE says.
