The New York Knicks are building trust with a new superstar

New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns officially takes the stage after the team scores 44 points 116-107 win against the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center.

Towns has had a bit of a rough start to the season and managed just seven field goals in the team’s loss earlier this week against the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the Knicks made a valiant effort to build on that performance against the Heat, which worked in their favor tremendously.

Despite trailing by six points at halftime, Towns began to improve in the second half, leading the Knicks to victory. The win helped build trust between Towns and star point guard Jalen Brunson.

“I think we did a good job of just feeding the hot hand. He was hot and we just played through him. He made the right read, and when they doubled, he was either fouled or he made the right play. We trust him. We trust him.” Brunson said h/t Post and Toast.

Just because Cities being able to flip the switch against the heat doesn’t mean it will stay that way forever. However, it shows that the team chemistry is growing and that he can be the best player in the team when needed. The addition of Towns as an offensive threat for the Knicks makes the team multi-dimensional, and that alone should make things exciting for New York.

If Nix can continue on the trajectory they’re on, Brunson and Towns could become one of the best dynamic guard-big duos in the NBA.

Brunson, Towns and Nix will be out tonight, but will be back when the team visits the Detroit Pistons tomorrow at Little Caesars Arena.
