Milwaukee crash near 60th and Silver Spring; 1 dead, 3 wounded

One person was killed in a crash on Milwaukee’s north side on Wednesday, October 30.

It happened around 5 pm. The vehicle was speeding south on 60th Street and swerved to avoid other vehicles that had stopped at a red light at Silver Spring Drive, police said.

The speeding car struck a vehicle that had stopped at a stop sign on Thurston Avenue before crashing into a building on the corner north of Silver Spring.

The 59-year-old driver who caused the accident was taken to hospital but died despite life-saving efforts. The 60-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital, the 35-year-old passenger was treated on the spot, and the 62-year-old refused medical assistance at the scene.

The police said that the 63-year-old driver of the crashed car was not injured. The 53-year-old passenger of this car was taken to the hospital, and the 5-year-old passenger was unharmed.

The investigation of the accident is ongoing.
